Easter Eggers are not a pure breed recognized by the American Poultry Association (APA).
They result from crossing a blue-egg-laying breed (like an Ameraucana or Araucana) with another breed.
Each individual hen will consistently lay one specific colored egg throughout her laying years, not a variety of colors.
They exhibit a wide range of feathering and physical characteristics, contributing to a diverse-looking flock.
Unlike Ameraucanas, which must have a pea comb, Easter Eggers can have various comb types.
