ISA Browns are a sex-link chicken hybrid, often resulting from crosses involving Rhode Island Reds and Rhode Island Whites.
They are highly valued in farming and homesteading for their exceptional egg-laying capabilities, producing around 300 large brown eggs per hen in the first year.
This breed has been selectively bred over many years to maximize egg yield, which can sometimes lead to reproductive health issues later in life.
They are also known as Red Sex Link, Golden Comet, or Golden Buff chickens.
